Studio Photography
Throughout this sector of the unit, I will be analysing certain lighting techniques which can be used in a photography studio. For all of these techniques, the camera will always remain in the same position and only the light will move. The diagrams used to illustrate each lighting technique are not mine, and belong to the rightful owner.
SIDE LIGHT:
This is a term which is used to describe the information on how the light source is placed directly towards the camera. This essentially creates quite toned dark shadows on the opposite side of their faces. This is often used in order to create a more dramatic effect or make a specific feature or texture stand out more. It can also be a visual representation of the emotion of the photography.
Examples:
Shutter Speed: 1/50sec , Aperture: f/5 , ISO: 800
Shutter Speed: 1/50sec , Aperture: f/5 , ISO: 800
Shutter Speed: 1/50sec , Aperture: f/4 , ISO: 1250
Shutter Speed: 1/50sec , Aperture: f/4 , ISO: 1250 (both images)
For the post-production, I used Adobe Photoshop to adjust the levels, and brightness to essentially add a bit of enthusiam to the photos; making them more appealing to the audience.
